What We Do

Armstrong Energy Consultants Limited is a licensed surveying company specialising in providing Air Conditioning Energy Assessments – TM44’s (CIBSE Technical Mandate 44) UK wide in accordance with the EPBD (Energy Performance of Buildings Directive).

We are a full member of ABBE (The Awards Body of the Built Environment) and are licensed by Sterling Accreditation Limited.

Providing level 3 (simple packaged systems) and level 4 (Complex Systems) Air Conditioning Energy Assessments throughout the UK has been our core business since 2011.

We have our own team of highly experienced licensed engineer assessors throughout the UK

TM44

We also provide an advanced TM44

report – which is a precision document, in addition to the standard TM44 and certificate for no additional charge. We can send you an example advancedreport at any time so you can see the enhanced features and benefits for yourself.

Finally we also offer follow up meetings – discussions after the survey and reports have been completed. There is usually a lot of information to digest. The number of discussions you require is not limited. We are always available to our valued customers.

How much does a TM44 – Air Conditioning Energy Inspection cost?

The cost varies depending on the length of time it will take to complete the survey and report. This is dependent upon the size and complexity of the A/C systems installed and the premises. The more information you can supply at this stage the better. Please email us with your contact details and we should be able to give you a quotation after our first discussion.
How long will it take to get a valid TM44 done?

Once the site survey is completed, we aim to provide you with draft reports and certificates for checking within 3 days for small to medium sites and 10 days for the much larger projects. We will always keep you advised of progress.
What if I don’t have a full A/C system asset list?

We can arrange a pre survey site visit to obtain the information we require in order to quote you accurately for your requirements. The cost of this would be absorbed within and not in addition to our TM44 charges.
What happens if I decide not to get a TM44 or renew it after 5 years?

In addition to possibly missing out on zero cost implementation -energy saving recommendations, you could be fined by Trading Standards per premises or per zone on a one off or roll over basis until you complete. In addition to this, you may not be able to gain accreditation or renew accreditation to bodies like the ISO without full EPBD compliance.
Do I have to implement the recommendations you put forward within the TM44 report?

No – Whilst it is a mandatory requirement to have a valid TM44 issued, implementation of the energy savings recommendations suggested is not monitored.
