City & Guilds and BESA Training F- Gas Training 


2079-11 F-Gas - 4 Day Training Course:


This 4-day F-Gas course is ideal for newcomers to the industry, apprentices, career changing & up-skilling engineers and persons who wish to work within the Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, Industry.


The course covers all practical and theoretical aspects to successfully complete the City & Guilds 2079 F-Gas & Ozone Depleting Substances Certification Course.

The aim of this unit is to provide the candidate with the knowledge and practical skills required to undertake leak checking, recovery, installation, service and maintenance of stationary refrigeration, air conditioning and heat-pump equipment that contains refrigerants which are classified as either fluorinated (F) gases or ozone-depleting substances (ODS) to meet Category I theoretical and practical requirements.


Successful candidates will demonstrate the application of practical skills to successfully fabricate and examine pipework, undertake pressure testing, evacuation and record completion, refrigerant charging, leak checking and record keeping, and recover refrigerants and oil and preparation for disposal.


Successful candidates will be qualified to undertake leak checking, recovery, installation, service and maintenance of equipment.

2079-11 F-Gas – 2 Day CITB Refresher Course


Who will benefit from this 2-Day Refresher / CITB Upgrade F-Gas Training Course?

The course covers all practical and theoretical aspects to successfully complete the City & Guilds 2079 F-Gas & Ozone Depleting Substances Certification Course.


This course is designed for engineers who currently hold or have held a previous F-Gas or similar qualification such as CITB J11.J12 or recognised refrigeration and air conditioning qualification and wish to upgrade their qualification to the latest City & Guilds F-Gas Certificate.

If you don’t have an up to date asset register or any other information don’t worry. 
As part of our service we can arrange to conduct a pre-survey site and systems check.

Hydrocarbons/Flammable Refrigerants


With more and more systems containing flammable refrigerants such as R600, R290, R1270 & of course the new lower flammability refrigerants such as R32


The 6187-21 Safe Handling of Hydrocarbon Refrigerants is a recognised City & Guilds qualification enabling holders of this qualification to work legally and safely on refrigeration systems containing Hydrocarbon refrigerants.


Candidates enrolling on this course must hold current City & Guilds 2079/11 F-Gas Certification or industry equivalent i.e. CITB J11.


On completion of the course, candidates will be able to understand and apply hydrocarbons, RAC System installation, testing, and servicing and maintenance techniques.
